1981 Rolling Stone Magazine Collection. Issues #335 through #569/360 – complete. 25 Issues from January 13th to December 29th, 1977. This collection of Rolling Stone Magazines contains all 25 issues from 1981. Every issue is in Very Good or Excellent condition. It is apparent that some of these magazines were read and handled more than others. Most are in Excellent condition. I have had these magazines stored in archival plastic for the last 22 years. The paper is in great shape, not dry or brittle, and every issue is readable. The edges and corners are sharp with few exceptions. Some pages have minor fraying at the very edge, and a few issues have minor damage around one staple, or at the bottom of the spine, but all the covers are very tight (except one, see below). John & Yoko, Ringo Starr, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Rickie Lee Jones, Jim Morrison, Elvis, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Warren Zevon. & Jack Nicholson, Bill Murray, Harrison Ford, Goldie Hawn, Margot Kidder. There are only two issues that have defects of note. I have taken detail photos to show these two issues. All of the other issues are in excellent condition. A few have minor damage around one staple at the worst! (Please look closely at the photos). Issue #335 with John & Yoko on the front cover has some major problems. The back cover has a tear that separates the bottom half of the cover. I have taped that tear, and I have taped the spine, which had tears along it’s length. The back cover also has a piece missing along the top edge, and a piece missing at the upper staple. The front cover is intact, with a few small round smudges near the bottom. Note: the inside of the back cover, and the last page, are a tribute to John, with a nice remembrance by Jann Wenner. Unfortunately the Double Fantasy photo of John and Yoko needed to be taped, but I think I did a fairly good job, and it is now safe for viewing. Issue #353 with Yoko on the cover has a 1/2″ x 1/4″ hole in the cover, just below the printing, and a few small tears along the spine near the stapes. Some of these issues have minor edge tears, and maybe even a small piece of paper missing from the back cover. Other than #335, there are no other major tears and no missing pages. None that I could find, and I tried. N ote I took the condition into consideration when I set the price. Most of these magazines are bagged two issues to a bag in archival plastic. A few are individually bagged.
